Eka is the Director of the African Leadership Centre and a Reader / Associate Professor in Development Economics in Africa at King’s College London. Eka’s research provides a critical understanding of socio-economic transformation processes and outcomes with a focus on Africa and interactions within the Global South. She draws on the value of respect for diversity in all its forms to build commitment to self-development, development of others and understanding the world from a range of perspectives.
Eka has multiple Advisory and Editorial roles, including the Research Advisory Group for Women for Women International, part of the Board of Trustees for African Leadership Centre; The Accelerator Project, sits on the Editorial Advisory Board for Africa Development Journal; African Security Review; Journal of Leadership and Developing Societies; African Political Science and International Relations in Focus. She is also is also the Co-editor for Peace, Society and the State in Africa, Bloomsbury Press and African Perspectives on Leadership and Peacebuilding, Bloomsbury Press.
