Improving community-based targeting in Lesotho
The Lesotho Child Grants Programme (CGP) is an unconditional cash transfer targeted to poor and vulnerable households with children, which was established to improve the living standards of orphans and other vulnerable children.
This project aims to provide
technical assistance and guidance to Lesotho’s Ministry of Social
Development to improve the community based targeting (CBT) strategy and
approach for the Child Grants Programme and other poverty targeted
social assistance programmes. This project aims to update the CBT methodology of the CGP through improving the participatory wealth ranking and household selection process and ensuring that programme staff and Village Assistance Committees are well instructed on how to apply the CBT approach.
