This article offers an introduction to the work of the Research and Policy in Development (RAPID) team at the ODI and demonstrates some of the theories and frameworks underlying its work. RAPID focuses explicitly on the interface between research and policy. Based on five years of theoretical and case study research and advisory work, RAPID has developed a simple analytical framework and a range of practical tools that researchers, policy makers and practicioners can use to make better use of research-based evidence.
