Political economy, water and the MDGs

Water resource management is critical for the achievement of many of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Too often, the political economy issues that determine whether or not water resources are managed effectively are overlooked. Drawing on research from the Lake Victoria region, this Opinion argues for a greater focus on political economy issues in the drive to reach the MDGs that relate to water.
