Since the last WTO Ministerial Conference in 2005, the world has changed. The global financial crisis of the last 18 months has reignited debate about protectionism and brought trade practices to the forefront of economic recovery plans.

The Seventh Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference will discuss “The WTO, the Multilateral Trading System and the Current Global Economic Environment”. It provides an opportunity for Trade Ministers and delegates to consider and review WTO activities – from the Doha Round to climate change.

ODI will be hosting side events on these key themes as part of the Geneva Trade and Development Symposium which will run alongside the Ministerial Conference.
