Social enterprise in Kenya: challenges and opportunities

11 February 2014 08:00 - 13:00 GMT+03
Workshop
Description
Amid the hive of activity around social enterprise in Kenya at the moment, we are conducting a study to look specifically at two sectors: health and agriculture. What is the nature of social enterprise activity that exists in these two sectors? How is it stimulated, or held back, by the operating environment within the sector and the country? What opportunities do social entrepreneurs and support organisations see to extend the reach and impact of health and agriculture social enterprises?

This workshops presents preliminary findings from our study and seeks an interactive discussion on how we tackle challenges and embrace opportunities.

This study is in partnership with the
Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Cape Town (South Africa), and KCA University and the East African Social Entrepreneurship Network (EASEN) (Kenya).

The workshop is by invite-only. Please contact Emily Darko for further information - [email protected]
