Description
Governments and the UN
are drawing up a disaster risk action plan to succeed the Hyogo Framework
for Action (HFA). A new agreement – HFA2 – is due to be signed in March
2015.
This event will explore how the private sector can engage in disaster risk
reduction within this new agreement.
The event is the first in a series on 'Rethinking international policy for
reducing disaster risk' hosted by ODI and The Climate and Development
Knowledge Network. Later events will address some of the following issues:
- Use of risk assessments
- Fragile states and conflict
- Effective governance
- Gender-sensitive Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
