Description

ODI co-funded an official side event at COP 21 with the Government of Ghana and the HATOF Foundation. The event showcased lessons from the extensive work programme under ODI's DfID Accountable Grant on domestic systems for climate finance spending in sub-Saharan Africa. Prof. Felix Asante of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Ghana, and Dr Zewdu Eshetu of the Climate Science Centre at the University of Addis Abbaba, Ethiopia spoke on their experiences undertaking first-of-a-kind national analyses on this important topic.

Opening remarks were given by the Ghanaian Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation. The event was also attended by the Ethiopian State Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

A full agenda and list of presentations are available at the UNFCCC archive page.
