In the run-up to the 2017 UK general election, ODI and Bond convene a debate between the main parliamentary parties to explore their vision and priorities for international development and the UK’s role in the world.
While all of the major parties have committed to spend 0.7% of GNI on international development, they differ significantly on where and how this should be spent. And beyond aid, the party manifestos offer different commitments on international trade, tackling climate change and the refugee crisis, ending conflicts, and where and how the UK’s global efforts can have the greatest impact.
At this event, representatives from each of the main parliamentary parties debate their plans and priorities and their vision for the UK’s role in the world post-Brexit.
