Description
Over the next decade, a billion more young people will enter the job market, mainly in Asia and Africa. Africa’s population is set to double by 2050, and its urban population to triple. Getting people into work across both regions will be vital for their wellbeing, giving them dignity and the means to escape poverty.
At this event co-hosted by CDC and ODI, representatives from both organisations as well as DFID and other leading experts discuss the role of development finance and the private sector in supporting economic transformation and achieving the UN Global Goals. The event marks the launch of CDC’s new five year strategic framework and is the first opportunity to hear from CDC’s newly appointed CEO Nick O’Donohoe about the organisation's plans to maximise its impact and deliver investments that transform markets, sectors and peoples' lives.
