
Emma Lovell
Research Fellow
Emma is an expert on disaster risk management, climate change and resilience. She leads on ODI's Global Risks and Resilience programme strategy on equity and social inclusion in multi-hazard contexts. She also specialises in research exploring climate, disasters and the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. Emma has provided technical advice on these themes to a range of governments, UN agencies, civil society organisations, foundations, multilateral and regional organisations.

Emma's geographical areas of expertise includes South Asia and South-East Asia, East Africa and the Caribbean. Before ODI, Emma worked in Bangkok, Thailand for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and with the International Federation of the Red Cross/Red Crescent (IFRC) South East Asia Regional Office.
She has extensive experience in managing large international research projects across finance, business development and strategic communications.
