Emma is a Senior Research Officer working within ODI’s Risk and Resilience Programme. She has an MA in Disasters, Adaptation and Development from King's College London, and her areas of interest include: disaster risk reduction, climate change, resilience, gender and social inclusion in DRR, and post-2015 processes for DRR and development.
Emma also has extensive experience of project management - including financial management, forecasting and reporting; work planning and contracts; business planning; and communications strategy and outreach.
Before working at ODI, Emma spent two years working in Bangkok, Thailand - where she had experience of working on disaster risk management, climate change adaptation and development issues within the Asia-Pacific Region; working with the International Federation of the Red Cross/Red Crescent (IFRC), the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific (UNESCAP).
