Most recently, Daniel has been working with the Red Cross as an Emergency Response Unit Delegate in response the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh.
Daniel started as a programme officer working with disadvantaged youth in the South on entrepreneurship and micro-business development. He left the small dutch NGO to spend over five years with ICCO and Oxfam working on (rural) Livelihoods Programmes in DR Congo. The main focus of his work in Congo has been on working with small holder farmers on resilience, climate change adaptation, gender equality, professional development of cooperatives and advocacy.
Daniel holds a bachelor's in Social Psychology and a master's in Cultural Anthropology. As he is interested in climate change and the desire to link theory to previous field experiences he is currently studying part time for a master's in Climate Change and Development at SOAS.
