Senior Research Officer
Carmen holds a PhD in International Development from the University of Sussex. Carmen's research interests are in the fields of migration, social protection, gender, health and early childhood development. Her research has focused on the linkages and mutual impacts between social protection and migration, including the role of remittances in households receiving cash transfers. She has extensive experience on qualitative and participatory research methods and has designed and conducted fieldwork in Latin America, the Caribbean, East Africa and South East Asia. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journal publications, project reports and working papers. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
