Christy joined ODI in January 2019 from the World Bank’s Social Protection & Jobs group in DC, where she worked on universal basic income and cash transfer delivery systems (globally, and with a specific South Asia focus). Her prior experience includes work with WFP on nutrition-sensitive and shock-responsive social protection, UNHCR Ghana on livelihoods and protection issues, and the UK’s Royal National Institute for Deaf People on health and social care for people with disabilities.
For her master's degree in Public Policy, Christy studied political, social and economic development in low- and middle-income countries, including an applied thesis on community-based school management in Sierra Leone. Her bachelor’s degree focused on social policy in Latin America, including extended research on the impact of conditional cash transfers on multidimensional poverty and inequality, and on the experience of internally displaced people in Colombia.
