Mick Foster worked as a DFID economist from 1974-99, set up and was the first head of ODI’s Centre for Aid and Public Expenditure from 1999-2001, and headed his own economic consultancy from 2001-2010. He has worked on a wide range of development issues in many geographical settings, but is best known for his work on public expenditure and the design of donor support.
He is now semi-retired, but maintains an interest in development issues as a senior research associate of ODI and an education specialist for AusAID. Further details of his career and copies of publications are available at www.mickfoster.com.
