Commenting on today’s UK Africa investment summit Sara Pantuliano, chief executive of the Overseas Development Institute think tank, said:
“We welcome the discussions at today’s UK Africa summit which put on the agenda two of our most important pieces of work.
“Boris Johnson said the UK would stop backing coal with aid – something we called for last year in some joint research with the charity CAFOD
“And we hope the next stage of the trading relationship will be a UK Africa Prosperity Commission – an idea we launched last week with the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Trade Out of Poverty.”
