This film tells the story of the people who have settled in the Lima’s slums and the progress they have made in improving their lives on the steep and dusty outskirts of the city.
This day-long event focused on moving towards inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities. The day featured highly interactive presentations, discussions and informal networking opportunities with key thinkers on urban issues.
This case study explores the improvements in living conditions in slum settlements located in the outskirts of cities in Peru. This period saw significant progress in access to utilities in these areas, with positive changes recorded in water piped directly to households, and in access to sanitation, as well as the share of slum households with electricity and dwellings made of durable housing materials.
