UNICEF/EC Toolkits on Child Rights

A comprehensive review and analysis of child rights in development and poverty reduction policy and programming processes, which will feed into an EC toolkit on children’s rights in development cooperation and government programming.

This component will not only feature a review and analysis of the current context with regards to child rights and development programming, but will develop methodologies and comprehensive policy recommendations to facilitate better incorporation of child rights into both the content and process of developing Poverty Reduction Strategies (PRS), National Development Strategies (NDS), National Plans of Action (NPA), as well as sector wide approaches (SWAPs) and international frameworks.

We will undertake scoping trips to better understand the difficulties of integrating child rights into PRS in 2 (or more) countries; where the country ise currently in the process of revising their PRS process. Confirmed country case studies are Uganda and Nepal. For more information contact C.Harper or J.Espey.
