Providing macroeconomic advice to the Government of Ghana to consider options (revenue raising and expenditure cutting) for rapidly reducing the government deficit and the burden of domestic debt; to advise on the appropriate balance between monetary and fiscal policy; to assess the likely impact (especially on inflation and the exchange rate) of steep but needed increases in fuel prices, and recommended tactics for implementation; and to assess longer term needs.
