Civil Society - Legislator linkages in evidence-based policymaking

The purpose of this research project is threefold; firstly, it aims to develop a better understanding of how civil society engages with legislators in South East Asia as part of broader evidence-informed policy processes, including both the enabling and inhibiting factors. Secondly, it seeks to explore how legislators view such engagement and the ways in which these CSO-legislator links could be fostered in order to develop more pro-poor policies. The final aim is to pilot joint Evidence-Based Policy in Development (EBPDN) research partnerships and work towards the development of an action research project plan to improve the quality of CSO-parliamentarian interactions in the SEA region (Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand in particular).
