Creating competitiveness for poor countries in a carbon constrained world
This project sets out to promote better economic policymaking which responds to the new opportunities and threats arising in a carbon-constrained global economy, and promotes green growth and jobs.
Its purpose is to establish a conceptual framework and propose a practical approach to help policymakers adjust their economic policies to the new context, and identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
The project will combine both top-down analysis of global trends in a carbon-constrained global economy, and the implications of those for sectoral sources of growth, with initial bottom-up understanding and engagement at national levels to assist countries in adapting their existing growth strategies as appropriate in light of these trends.
