KNOWFOR partner-led evaluation quality assurance
International Forestry Knowledge (KNOWFOR) is a five-year, £38 million UK-supported partnership between the Department for International Development (DFID), the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICUN) and the World Bank Programme of Forests (PROFOR). It seeks to equip developing country policy-makers and practitioners with research evidence on forests, trees and climate change.
A partner-led evaluation will assess the contibution of partner activities to the overall intended programme outcomes, and generate lessons for future knowledge programmes. This is a new evaluation approach that gives implementing partners a leading role in designing the evaluation, and collecting and analysing the data. This is supported by the evaluation facilitator Clear Horizon.
ODI's Research and Policy in Development (RAPID) programme is the evaluation quality assurer. RAPID provides feedback on the methodology, approach, findings and recommendations. Our purpose is to increase the rigour, validity and quality of the evaluation.
