Universal Basic Income: Implications for work and employment

July 2017 to May 2018

This project examines the main arguments in favour and against Universal Basic Income (UBI) in relation to work and employment. It also reviews the evidence on the links between cash transfers and work outcomes. In particular, it considers the impact of cash transfers on work participation, type of work and its quality, risk-taking and bargaining power. This study is funded by the World Bank.
