​Emerging trends in the development finance landscape will influence the funding of a post-2015 agreement on sustainable development goals, either directly or indirectly. They will also have consequences for developing countries that are seeking to strengthen their capacities to mobilise and attract resources.

This chapter also outlines some low- and middle-income countries’ experiences in managing the increased variety and complexity of the development finance landscape. In particular, it looks at the extent to which middle-income and low-income countries welcome more financing options and how capacity building in governments should help manage this increased complexity.
