Global evidence policy units: PEMANDU, Malaysia

Briefing/policy paper

Written by Caroline Cassidy, Josephine Tsui

Briefing/policy paper

PEMANDU is the Government of Malaysia's performance management and delivery unit. It was set up in 2009 to oversee the National Transformation Programme – a set of socio-economic priorities to help transform Malaysia into a high-income nation by 2020. PEMANDU – which also means ‘driver’ in Malay – is the largest delivery unit in the world, with over 100 staff.

This publication is part of a series on global evidence policy units, published by the Knowledge Sector Initiative in Indonesia. It presents key facts about the department: how it was established, how it has evolved, and how it works today.
