Consultation with and participation by affected populations in the process of planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating humanitarian action: the case of Afghanistan

Research report

Research report

The ALNAP Global Study responds to a growing consensus that the consultation and participation of disaster-affected populations during the planning, monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian action, is critical to the accountability and performance of the humanitarian sector. The Global Study seeks to test this hypothesis and to investigate current policy and field practice through five case studies. This study examines humanitarian practice in Afghanistan, focussing on the humanitarian response following the two earthquakes that hit Nahrin, Baghlan Province, in March 2002.
