How the cuts in government expenditure affect aid

The government’s economic measures mean that aid to developing countries will be cut in real terms by 5 to 10% between 1968 and 1970. However, this paper argues that because the government's measures maintain the actual Sterling value of aid they demonstrate an implicit political commitment to increasing aid again once Britain’s own economic problems have been tackled.
