Aid for trade facilitation in lower-income countries: the role of institutional quality

Research reports

Research reports

Trade-related development assistance (or 'aid for trade') is recognised as an important development tool that facilitates the integration of developing countries into the global economy through initiatives that expand trade. However, existing literature lacks an assessment of the impact of different levels of institutional quality of recipient countries on the effectiveness of aid for trade.

This study will overcome this gap in the current literature through the use of panel data techniques in order to take into account joint endogeneity issues and country-specific effects.
