Kiribati's unique context makes it exceptionally vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Institutional pathways to embed disasters, environment and climate change adaptation and mitigation (DEC) into national policies are highlighted, followed by lessons from Australian Aid with the aim of encouraging others to adopt similar approaches to DEC integration.
