Research reports

This briefing is the first of a series of three that summarise key processes and outcomes emerging from a partnership between CARE International UK and GlaxoSmithKline to improve maternal and child health in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Nepal. The partnership focuses on increasing the effectiveness and capacity of frontline health workers, strengthening the health system and enhancing community mobilisation. The first phase of the partnership has been implemented from 2011-2015; a second phase is now being planned for 2015-2020. This briefing focuses on the initiative’s project in Nepal: Strengthening Approaches for Maximizing Maternal, Neonatal and Reproductive Health. The project completed its first 3-year phase in June 2015 and there are plans for a second project phase starting in 2015 and running until 2018.
